Oreo, you don't say what the doc told you to do or how bad it was, so I can only assume he said 'eh, whatever...get on with your life' or he said something else and it didn't sink in. So...go see another doc. The 'bruising' that comes with a sprain (not an impact, if you whacked your leg...plz disre...

Hey, you're doing fine. I saw in the 1000PU thread you knocked them out too. Your run time could be better. Add in some interval training one, maybe , 2 days a week. A favorite method of mine is the Tabata protocol: sprint balls out for 20sec, walk or jog for 10sec. Immediately sprint again for 20se...

By far the toughest thing for me in RIP was the 12 miler. I was in no way prepared for how painful it was, but I finished it somehow. We did it in less than 2.5 hours. This brings up a point that seems to have been made many times in RIP stories. There are the standards (a'la Ranger H8train's post)...

I'm requesting Ranger H8train come to my last DEP function next summer. i'm gonna scare the piss out of 'em before i leave. Now that sounds like a good time! SFC hit_it, I understand about not overdoing it...I'm the only guy, out of about 20 DEPs, goin' into any 'action' MOS. Everyone else is food ...

I have a coupla kettlebells and they're great. They're not all that they're hyped as Dragondoor piles on more shit that Hercules cleaned outta the stables, but they are excellent, simple 'tools'. Nate Morrison, USAF PJ, has done alot to push these in the military community ( http://www.militaryfitne...

Gauge, am I incorrect in thinking that a coupla folks have already mentioned that you need to take some rest days? The body adapts to stress during rest . It's a cycle...stress, rest, stress, rest. To much of either one and you either get injured or out of shape. The 'shin splint' is a classic overu...

Gauge, it definitely depends on you and your recruiter. The DEP program I'm in is weak. They do PT twice a week and I've attended one session where I took a PT test. There was no correction/demonstration of form on any exercises. There was no warmup. When I asked what PT is usually like, I was told ...

As Ranger BadMuther mentioned, take some rest days! When you push to failure, figure out which part of your body is maximally worked. Then you can adjust your workout to target your weakness. Like Ranger deleon related, my hip flexors give out well before my abs during situps so I throw in flutter k...

JC, you're on the right track, but proper nouns, like names, get capitalized too. Some guys choose to use lowercase letters for their screen name, a'la SFC hit_it, so you should be okay sticking to their format. However, if you're demonstrating respect to someone who has capitalized their handle, go...

Don't have much bayonet experience...just that goofy tire killing course at Benning :D . I do have a fair amount of knife training, tho I've never used a knife in a fight. In any case, w6's post made me think of something I have read and heard in several places. 'Back in the day', a guy with a quart...
